Very good Condition

“Creation” is a 1981 Julian Everitt designed Evolution 25 with tall fractional rig and Yanmar 1GM10 diesel inboard engine, 6 berths.
She is a high performance little yacht and sails superbly, easily outperforming many much larger boats. The Evolution 25 is the performance cruising version of the more racing orientated Evolution 26, the only difference being the higher coach roof on the 25, to allow for more interior comfort when cruising. For a review of the boat check out the following link http://www.evolution26.org/Evo25/evo25review.htm
These boats have an impressive racing pedigree and continue to win races in their class to this day. Historically, they were built in Christchurch, and ideal for mooring in the shallow harbour, but an excellent offshore racing yacht in the swell out in the open sea. I have also found her excellent in the near vertical chop around Cowes. She just cuts through with easy.  Her hydraulic lifting keel allow her to take the ground and explore the shallows. Fully retracted up she can go on a standard roller or bunk trailer. The keels adjustment is done from a hydraulic pump in the cockpit, so you can adjust her when sailing. When the keel is locked down, the hull has sufficient strength to sit on her extended keel. When sailing she remains stiff and grippy due to the fact that she has a true ballast keel weighing in at well in excess of 363kg (800lbs)  in addition to more than 363kg of ballast in the bilges. This gives her a total of 726kg of ballast, which, with a hull only displacement of 1633kg, provides a ballast ratio of 45%, meaning she can carry a surprising amount of canvas for such a lightweight boat. This does not include the engine, thus with fuel & water tanks and engine she weights around 2200kg

Accommodation wise, the word Tardis springs immediately to mind with 6 berths and seating for 8. She truly does seem to have more space below than her proportions should permit. She has 6 feet of headroom in the aft area of the saloon around the galley, which tapers gently running forward. The hatch can be removed to give a large airy cabin, making the cockpit and cabin look like one open space.  She has a huge double berth in the forepeak. I am 6ft 2” and I find this fine for me and my wife.
A separate heads/hanging locker compartment with porta-potty and pull-out sink with pumped water. Due to the mainly harbour use our family had, I remove the sea toilet but have kepted the sea toilet fittings and sea toilet which will be included in the sale of this boat, so you can change back.
Mechanically pumped water to heads and galley sink fed from 10 gallon tank under front starboard bunk – all new in 1998.
The saloon will seat 6 to 8 people in comfort. The saloon also provides a further four berths. One on a starboard settee berth, two on the port settee (made into a double by the use of an in-fill panel), and one in the port quarter.
New  wooden floor in cabin 2008 and very easy to clean. Wife loves the look of it.
The galley which features a cooker, two burner hob and grill, a sink with pumped water and a draining board, and voluminous storage. She also has a vast cockpit locker which will easily swallow all necessary warps, fenders, cleaning equipment, extra fuel tanks, push chair of kids or if you have one, a small dinghy and a liferaft.
Hull –
All new through hull fittings including 2 no. Blakes seacocks serving heads where replaced in 1998.   The hull is extremely strong being constructed of very large & high strength woven roving GRP and the hull has bonded in multiple horizontal and longitudinal stringers.
Strengthen and new tiller steering pintals in stainless steel. New in 2008.  New rudder and rudder support in 2007, to give better balance.
Keel: painted and connected to anode. Lifting wire in perfect condition.

Rig:
Selden Tall Fractional Rig is a racing configuration with particularly good up-wind performance. This is the best mast for the Evolution 26 or 25 as other Evolutions have the masthead or ¾ fractional mast.  All mast, boom, spinnaker pole and rigging was new in 1998.

Sails and Sail Handling:
To aid performance, running back stays are there to use. Lots of rig adjustment is possible.  Two slab reefing points with reefing lead back to cockpit.
All new in 1999 and 2004. Really nice crispy sails setting a perfect shape. Main sail, jib, Genoa, Spinnaker, Ghoaster
Two size 7 halyard winches. Two size 10  sheet winches.  Two sets of triple rope clutches serving halyard winches.  Mainsail cover.

Mechanical:
Newly serviced Yanmar 1GM10 diesel engine driving folding 2-blade propeller via 25mm stainless shaft fitted with shaft anodes. Engine and gearbox  new in 2004 controlled by single lever Morse control to cockpit well and Yanmar engine panel in watertight compartment set into cockpit combing. Aluminium 7 gallon diesel tank.  Very little engine use as this is such a good sailing boat.   Out board bracket also fitted to back new in 2008.

Electrical – 12 volt:  New battery in dedicated battery box charged by engine alternator. Whole collection of cabin lights all working..

Navigation Equipment, Instruments and Communications:
Navigation Front  red and green lights not working. Rear running light fine. Windex mast head wind indicator to cockpit display wind instrument. cockpit display depth, speed and log. Plastimo compass with illumination in bulkhead.

Safety Equipment:

Summary:
This is a lovely sailing boat. She is so well balanced that I can let the tiller go and she sails herself. I find the winds or 14 to 17 knots, perfect. But I have sailed her in winds or 41 knots. Fully reefed down I was happy to take her out in 30 knots of wind with my kids.  We have sailed her from her base in Chichester harbour, all around the isle of Wight to Poole harbour. We are only selling, as we want to buy a bigger boat as my four kids and wife are needed more space.
Price: £14,990
The Evolution 25 is also a very sought after boat, you can race against theevolution 26 but have more space for your family. These are quite rare as you'll know if you're specifically trying to find one.  Virtually depreciation proof little yacht. But keenly priced to sell.

The boat is lying ashore on a yard trailer in Mengham Rythe Sailing Club, Hayling Island, Hampshire
